Klondike Electric Bicycles LLC Electric Car Rental Agreement
Klondike Electric Bicycles is owned and operated by Klondike Electric Bicycles, LLC (PO Box 1066 Skagway, Alaska 99840). To contact us call 907-983-2453 or email: info@klondikebikes.com. The information contained in this rental agreement constitutes the entirety of the rental agreement terms and conditions. By signing and dating this form you are signifying that you agree to fully comply with all the terms and conditions listed in this Agreement. Failure to abide by the terms will result in penalty fees and additional charges. The terms are as follows:
1. All valuables and personal effects carried by customers and all passengers in the rental vehicle are carried solely at the customer’s risk.
2. Customer shall have proper and valid personal identification.
3. Seat belts shall be worn at all times by all vehicle occupants.
4. All traffic laws shall be obeyed.
5. No alcohol, smoking, or drug use or possession of such, is permitted by customer and/or passengers at any time or place during the rental.
6. Customer confirms his/her proper health and fitness to operate the vehicle.
7. Customer is responsible for all passengers’ compliance with rules and laws of both the United States and Canada.
8. Customer shall be responsible for safe operation of the vehicle and for the safety of all occupants/passengers and shall hold Klondike Electric Bicycles, LLC, and all affiliates, harmless from all injuries/damages arising from customer’s use and/or operation of the vehicle. Customer acknowledges certain inherent risks and assumes all such risks of injury and damages to himself and all occupants/passengers in the vehicle.
9. Customer releases Klondike Electric Bicycles LLC from any liability occasioned by any and all causes, of every kind and nature except as may be attributed to the sole fault of Klondike Electric Bicycles LLC.
10. NO SMOKING of any kind in the vehicle. A cleaning charge of $250 will be assessed if you smoke in the vehicle.
11. It is illegal to feed the wildlife or litter in Alaska, British Columbia, and the Yukon Territory. Violators may be fined.
12. All cruise ship passengers that rent an electric vehicle have a 175 mileage limit. If you go over this daily limit, you will be charged at a rate of $1.00 per mile.
13. You cannot let any other driver drive the vehicle without signing another rental agreement form at the time of vehicle pick up.
14. All drivers must be 25 years old with a valid driver license and full coverage insurance in place that covers rental cars.
15. If travelling from outside of the USA or Canada, you will be required to purchase our additional insurance for an additional fee.
16. Customers will receive the vehicle with a state of charge adequate for the distance stated in line 11 of this agreement (175 miles). If the vehicle is found to be driven in a manner deemed unsafe, or outside of the posted speed limits and these violations dramatically reduce vehicle range in such a way that the vehicle has to be towed back to Skagway, the renter agrees to cover the cost of this service amounting to minimum $250 with a maximum of $1500.
17. Customer is NOT required to recharge the vehicle before returning it to 5th Avenue at the end of their rental period.
18. You must have a passport to enter Canada or for USA citizens a copy of a valid id and an original birth certificate. Additionally, customer is responsible for ensuring that his/her and all passengers have read and understand the Canadian entry/testing requirements regarding COVID-19
19. For cruise ship passengers, you can pick up your vehicle anytime after 8:00am. Your rental car can be picked up at Klondike Electric Bicycles located at the corner of 5th and State Street. It takes 10 to 20 minutes to walk to our location, depending on where your ship is docked (approximately 1/2 mile). If you have a mobility issue or you encounter inclement weather, we advise you to take the city Smart Bus into town.
20. You must have the electric vehicle returned to Klondike Electric Bicycles at 398 5th Ave, Skagway AK 99840 by 6pm or one hour before your ship departs (whichever is earlier).
Insurance: By executing this Agreement and by operating the vehicle, Customer assures Klondike Electric Bicycles LLC that Customer has bodily injury and property coverages applicable for the rented vehicle at least to the extent of $50,000/$100,000 in liability, and $25,000 for property damages to vehicle which coverage shall be first and primary to any insurance provided by Customer.
Indemnity: Customer releases and holds Klondike Electric Bicycles LLC harmless from any injury, damages, or claim of any kind to any person, thing, or property caused in whole or in part by any act or failure of Customer while operating vehicle, or for any other of Customer’s breach of any term in this Agreement. This full indemnity extends to the limits of any and all claims, settlements, payments, assessments and/or awards as well as all costs and expenses of customer’s duty for/of a legal defense, defense costs, or Klondike Electric Bicycles LLC costs, expenses and full attorney’s fees incurred by Klondike Electric Bicycles LLC.
By signing this Rental Form you agree to abide by all the terms and conditions listed in this Agreement.
